The Bugatti International Meeting, organized by the Bugatti Club of Italy, will take place in the Tuscany region of Maremma between May 23rd and May 30th, 2009. The gathering celebrates the centennial of the Bugatti foundation and will bring 125 Bugattis and their crews to Castiglione.

There, I will present an exclusive exhibit, "The Bugatti Glamour" and, together with my staff, will also shoot the Bugattis both in a special outdoors set and in the breathtaking surrounding nature.
The blog, a full coverage of the event, will be updated daily by uploading photographs, video and interviews.

May 28 Moscatello, Villa Le Vigne | A typical tuscan lunch in a timeless place

The procession of cars proceeded to the Moscatello winery along a wonderful rough road lined by cypresses, ideal for Bugattis. A typical tuscan lunch was served in a oasis of relaxation, in a timeless dimension, perfectly fitting on the cars of Molsheim. May 28, Massa Marittima | The Bugatti in the delightful Piazza Garibaldi

The procession stopped off here in the delightful Piazza Garibaldi with it's lovely atmosphere. Everyone was fascinated by the beautiful architecture and the splendid late medieval old town center. After having parking in front of the magnificent cathedral, the crews visited the Mining Museum and the Organ Museum and tasted local specialities at Palazzo dell’Abbondanza. Read more...

 

May 25, Bugatti Village. | Staging the Bugatti photoshooting set

Tomorrow the show will start. Today we prepared the set where the Bugattis will show themself in all her dazzling splendour, exalted by the lights of Arriflex. The star is the Butterfly Avenger by Manfrotto, a specialframe system originally built from the cinema. We adapted it to allow a fine light control in photo shooting. Read more...

 

 

May 24, Col d'Orcia. Cinzano Estate | First Day in Rhythm of Dixie

Looking at this surreal field of Bugattis, so serene and elegant, it is hard to believe that a few minutes prior they were roaring up and down the hills of the Valle d'Orcia. After arriving at the Cinzano Estate, they stopped to rest under the bright sun or in the fresh shadow of an old tree. Two rows of cypresses welcomed the pilots, dusty and tired. An extraordinary Brunello di Montalcino fills the glasses and the notes of a banjo, a sax, a trumpet, a trombone and a double-bass fill the air; the dixie music, exhilarating more than the wine, carries us away through time and space. May 24, Montalcino, Col d'Orcia Estate | Fabulous Brunello and Tuscan Hospitality

The first stop off was in Montalcino, in the heart of the Tuscan vine growing area. Here, the crews received a sumptuous welcome in the magnificen Col d’Orcia Estate, one of the most prestigious cellars making Brunello di Montalcino where the encounter between two exceptional centenarians was celebrated in style with "déjeuner sur l’herbe".
After parking their cars in the vast meadows in front of the winery, !the Bugatti drivers had the chance to relax an !enjoy the atmosphere of the Siena hills and excellent Tuscan hospitality. Read more...

Adrenalina. Siamo abituati a sentirla montare e inebriarci il cervello. Qui nel parcheggio del Bugatti Village si sente forte, e ha odore di benzina. Pura adrenalina. Auto recalcitanti prima della partenza, cuori meccanici pulsanti. Ferro, acciaio, alluminio, in armonica tensione. A bordo i piloti, ognuno con la propria storia e i propri colori, esattamente come la propria auto. C'è chi spinge sull'acceleratore sollevando nuvole di fumo, o chi prima di partire dà l'ultima lucidata alla carrozzeria, o studia l'itinerario minuziosamente. They are just arrived. The roaring engines, like thoroughbred before a competition. They arrived, from anywhere and anytime, from the America of the Twenties and from the France of the Thirties. They arrived in a flash and now we can hear different languages and perceive the different smells. Many recognize the models from a distance, count the cylinders and get excited for the strenght. When you see the first car shoot past like a rocket under the aged oaks, the pilot aboard, with the glasses and the leather helmet you can really feel the modern myth of Bugatti. Read more...
